Why this coast
An earthquake, and a very long silence.
Twenty-five centuries ago Lycian harbour towns lined this coast: quays, warehouses, staircases cut into rock — a fleet of small cities trading purple dye and cedar across the Mediterranean.
In the 2nd century AD the ground moved and the water came up. It never went back down. Those harbours now lie a few metres under a sea so clear that on a still morning you can read a doorway from a kayak.
Ghost of Kaş is a curated guide to going there properly: the right boat, the right hour, and the story told by someone who bothered to learn it.
The cities are still down there. Most visitors sail straight over them without ever being told what they are looking at.

Aperlai
A port wealthy enough on murex purple dye to mint its own coins. No road reaches it. Its harbour walls sit in shallow, gin-clear water, its towers stand in the maquis, and on most days the only visitors are goats. Our studio is named after it.
Simena · Kaleköy
A village you can reach only from the sea, crowned by a Byzantine fortress, with a Lycian sarcophagus standing in the shallows below the houses.

Every figure on this site is a typical season starting price, labelled as exactly that. No bait numbers, and no discovering at the harbour that lunch, transfer and entry were extra.
No invented reviews
We publish no ratings until real guests leave them. You will not find a five-star badge here that we drew ourselves.
Licensed operators only
Every boat, dive centre and agency we point you to holds what Turkish law requires: vessel licence, insurance, qualified crew. It is the least exciting promise on this page and the most important.

Aperlai, and the hour after sunset
Two days we are building ourselves with licensed local partners for the 2027 season: a kayak-and-walk day to Aperlai — the drowned port our studio is named after — and Ghost Hour, a small-group evening cruise timed to the light after the day boats come home.
